What we
keep

A clip of your body is not ordinary data. This says exactly what happens to it, and what never does.

What this covers

This policy covers this site, the web app and the iOS app. Lorne Benjamin Sonley, a sole trader based in Switzerland, is responsible for the data described here.

To ask anything about it, or to act on any of the rights below, write to boardvisionapp@gmail.com.

What we collect

Three things, and nothing beyond them.

Your account
An email address, a password we never see in the clear, and the name you gave us. Sign in with Apple instead and we get an Apple account identifier and whichever address you chose to share — including a private relay address, if that is what you picked.
Your clips
The clip you submit, after it has been normalized: re-encoded to a constant 24 frames a second with the long side capped at 1280 pixels and rotation baked into the picture.
The record of each analysis
When you submitted it, how it came out, which allowance it was counted against, and the key that lets a retry be recognised as the same submission rather than a second one.

What the analysis itself stores

This is the part worth being exact about. Alongside the read-out, we keep the measurements it was derived from: the position of 33 body landmarks in every frame of the clip, and the lean, compression and twist values calculated from them.

That is a record of where a body was, frame by frame, for a few seconds. It is what makes a read-out reproducible instead of something you have to take on trust.

It is not face recognition. It is never used to work out who anyone is, and it is never matched against another rider's landmarks or anyone else's. It exists to explain one carve to the rider who submitted it.

What never reaches us

Your card number, your billing address and your tax details. Those stay with Apple or with Paddle, whichever you paid through. What comes back to us is which plan you are on and when the period you paid for starts and ends — that is all we are told and all we keep.

There is no analytics in Board Vision. No crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no cross-app tracking, no third-party SDK watching what you tap. We did not turn it off; it was never put in.

Nothing is kept on your device beyond the session that keeps you signed in. There is no history of past carves on the phone — a read-out is gone when you leave it.

Where the analysis runs

On AWS servers in Europe (Ireland, UK, or France). The pose model is a file that ships inside the server image, and it runs in the same process as everything else.

No clip, no frame and no landmark is ever sent to a third-party machine-learning service. There is no language model involved anywhere in Board Vision — a read-out is geometry and correlation, chosen from a fixed set, not text written by a model.

Who else touches it

The services Board Vision is built on, each doing one job:

Supabase
Sign-in, the database, and the private store your clips sit in. Hosted in London.
Modal
The compute the analysis runs on, pinned to Europe (Ireland, UK, or France).
RevenueCat
Keeps track of whether a subscription is live, so the server knows which allowance to apply.
Paddle
Takes the payment for a web subscription, as merchant of record.
Apple
Sign in with Apple, and App Store purchases made on an iPhone.

How long we keep it

Your clips and your analyses stay while your account does.

A clip is only kept when there was something to keep: when the analysis succeeded, or when it ran but coverage came in too low to report. A clip we could not decode at all, and one lost to an error on our side, are never stored — they are deleted along with the working files, and nothing of them survives the request.

Any link to a stored clip stops working an hour after it is issued. There is no public address for your footage, and one cannot be made.

What we log

We log analysis activity against your account identifier — that a submission happened, how it came out, and how long it took. We do not log your IP address, your device or your browser.

Our hosting and database providers see request IP addresses at their own layer, as any provider does. That is theirs, not something we collect or keep.

Deleting your account

Write to boardvisionapp@gmail.com and ask. Your account, your clips and your analyses are deleted within 30 days, and we will confirm when it is done.

There is no delete button in the app yet. Until there is, the email address above is the way, and it is not a slower path to a worse outcome — the same thing gets deleted either way.

Cancelling a subscription is not the same as deleting an account. Cancelling stops the billing; the account and its clips stay until you ask for them to go.

Your other rights

You can ask what we hold on you and get a copy of it. You can have something inaccurate corrected. You can ask us to stop processing, and you can object to it.

All of it goes to the same address — boardvisionapp@gmail.com — and we will answer within 30 days. If we get it wrong, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

Board Vision is not for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly keep data on anyone younger. If a child's account has been created, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect or who touches it changes, this page changes and the date at the top moves with it. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you rather than leaving you to notice.
